The 1980s Inspired Lingerie for the Modern Girl with a Vintage Soul
Lenagerie brand is proof that sustainability can be sexy and you definitely want to add it to your lingerie collection.
Lena, the uber-talented designer behind my favourite, and the only sneakers brand I wear, SPITZ, has created a lingerie line for modern women with a vintage soul. Her inspiration came from the ultra-feminine fashions of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
All Lenagerie limited edition pieces are made of premium and sustainable European fabrics such as Tencel and are manufactured by the best craftsmen in Germany.
For many years now, I’ve been a fan of Lena’s creative genius, her immaculate attention to detail and her ability in combining comfort with luxury in a footwear line. I’m over the moon that she decided to spread her artistic wings and venture into designing lingerie.
And even though the market is saturated with underwear brands, there is a gap in luxury retro-chic undergarments made to last, which Lena fills perfectly. As such, she has managed to find a balance between the old and the new.
Her sensual vintage designs created from sustainable materials are good for the skin and the environment.
Nothing escaped the designer’s attention, and even the care label was made of biodegradable paper.
Let’s not pretend that we choose our lingerie for anything but its appearance, I’ll be the first one to admit it, and sustainability is just an added bonus. Luckily for us, Lenagerie combines both and we don’t have to compromise one for the other.

It’s the perfect choice for minimalists and maximalists alike. The former, favouring designs bereft of superfluous adornments, should therefore love the clean lines of Lenagerie pieces. Maximalists like myself, on the other hand, will fall head over heels for the delicate but glamorous handmade lace detail that makes Lenagerie stand out from the competition.

Think of me what you like, but I’m watching Dynasty, the 1980s queen amongst soap operas, and channelling my inner Alexis Carrington while wearing my brand new Lenagerie piece. All that’s missing now is a glass of chilled champagne and some caviar.
The Lenagerie Teddy looks bodacious paired with an original 1950s belt.
The understated elegance of this Teddy makes for the perfect ‘Peek a boo’ top. One word of advice, before you click the add to basket button, make sure that you check your measurements against the measurements of the garment as there is no stretch to the fabric.

The seductive high waist butterfly cut briefs embellished with a ruffle reminiscent of the 1980s style make for the perfect lingerie and nightwear. Taking Care of Your Precious Lingerie
If you want your beauteous lingerie to last, you should take good care of it by always using a delicate detergent when hand washing. My favourite product which I use for all of my true vintage and contemporary undergarments is Eucalan Wrapture which doesn’t require a rinse and smells like heaven! Eucalan is also available in Lavender and Eucalyptus scents as well as an unscented version.
